The Gentleman Downstairs Moves In

In short: The therapist welcomes Buried Alive to Melbourne. Escape This’s booking system lists Buried Alive at Escape This Melbourne CBD from 1 March 2027, alongside Asylum; Asylum picks up where Buried Alive leaves off.

Tuesday. The gentleman with the coffins was booked to move into Collins Street yesterday, and the building has not been this tense since the lift broke.

For me, it is the best news of the year. Until now my Melbourne patients have come to me fresh, never buried, which is perfectly fine but rather like starting a book on chapter two. Now, at last, they can be buried first, dig themselves out, and then wake up with me. The proper order! The full course of treatment!

Lorraine and I have rehearsed a special welcome for referrals from downstairs. It begins “welcome BACK”, with the emphasis exactly there.

I sent the gentleman a card wishing him well. I did not mention that I have been in Melbourne since October and know where the good coffee is. He can find out for himself. It builds character.

First patient of the week said she could hear somebody laughing through the floor. I said that was the plumbing. She did not believe me. Good.

FAQ

What this note answers

Does Asylum carry on the Buried Alive story?

Yes. Asylum picks up where Buried Alive leaves off: you’ve clawed your way out of the coffin, only to wake up chained in a padded cell. You don’t need to have played Buried Alive first, but its survivors will recognise the thread.

Why does Asylum in Melbourne cost $55 or $69?

Melbourne CBD prices each Asylum session as off-peak ($55 per player) or peak ($69 per player). The booking calendar on escapethis.com.au shows which price applies before you pay.
